Captain – Derek Bolden
Derek grew up in rural West Virginia with a passion for the outdoors, hiking, shing, and all things mechanical. Going straight into the
army after graduation as a diesel mechanic and entering the trades afterward as an electrician and refrigeration contractor, Derek gained a wide range of
knowledge and experience in maintaining various systems and equipment. An engineer by trade, with a love for the ocean, thus nding yachting.
Having a love for the water, Derek became a PADI divemaster to be able to share his passion with others. Derek decided to buy a sailboat and call it
home, learning the boat’s ins and outs to experience true “anchor living” while being the captain of his own ship. Shortly after, Derek took his rst
crew position as an engineer on an expedition vessel. Derek has crossed the Atlantic, navigated through the east coast of the US and the Mediterranean
seas. Derek currently holds his Master 100 Ton Captain’s License and both Chief Engineer 500 Ton. In Derek’s leisure, he enjoys riding his motorcycle
up and down the coast, training junior captains and engineers boat mechanics and traveling to tropical places. Derek’s technical expertise, safety
and security background, calm demeanor, and prepared mindset will ensure a comfortable, smooth, and enjoyable experience while spending your
dream vacation onboard M/Y KEFI.
Mate – Allen Dudley
Born in Guildford, England, but raised in Lansing, Michigan and Port Clinton, Ohio. Allen was well traveled from a young age. Growing up on
the Great Lakes, he naturally had a love for watersports – everything from jet skiing, kite surfing, wakeboarding, kneeboard, and freediving. Allen took
his passion in mechanics and the ocean to Orlando, Florida where he studied at the Marine Mechanics Institute. After graduating from MMI,
Allen was offered a diesel apprenticeship in the US Virgin Islands through All Points Marine. Allen worked on several yachts in various capacities out
of Yacht Haven Grande, St. Thomas, until being offered his first position on a 120’ Broward where he spent the next year as first mate and chief engineer,
and the captain’s allover right hand man. Allen is welcoming, extremely knowledgeable, and has a desire to please. When not onboard traveling the
world at sea, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
Chief Stewardess – Catherine Lubitz
Catherine was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, never far from a beach or the ocean. She has always had a fondness for hospitality and began
working in restaurants and customer service at the age of 15. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor’s in Psychology,
Catherine merged her love for the ocean with her acquired interpersonal skills and began her yachting career. Over the past six years Katie has
appreciated the opportunity to travel to beautiful locations and interact with interesting people. As a native Floridian, Catherine usually enjoys her
o time snorkeling, paddle boarding, and spending time relaxing on the beach. Her preparedness and bubbly personality will ensure your time on
M/Y KEFI will be a precious memory your friends and family will cherish for a lifetime.
