Captain Richard Goché

Richard was born and raised in beautiful Tahiti, growing up on the family sailing yacht, where he developed his passion for the sea. After completing Merchant Marine School in Tahiti, he gained maritime experience on various types of vessels. Richard then acquired 15 years of experience as a charter yacht Captain, and during this time has completed ten trans-Atlantic and two trans-Pacific crossings. Richard was Captain of the previous ABILITY for two seasons before actively assisting the Owner with the purchase and refit of this yacht. On board ABILITY, Richard looks forward to the challenge of exceeding the expectations of all his guests by enriching their charter experience with his extensive knowledge of the sea and its many hidden treasures. Richard is also a gourmet cook and a fine wine connoisseur and in his spare time enjoys water sports, fishing, painting and going to the opera. He speaks English, French, and basic Italian and has a deep interest in Ocean and nature protection. Richard will ensure that his guests have an unforgettable time on board ABILITY.

First Officer – Ludovic Placid
Martinique

Ludovic started sailing from a very young age in a small traditional canoe off the island of Martinique. This experience caused Ludovic to discover his passion for travelling and working on board boats and yachts. To further his career Ludovic is preparing for his Masters in Maritime Sciences in Belgium in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a Captain one day. Ludovic pays a great deal of attention to details and will always be ready to assist your needs and desires while on board ABILITY. He speaks English, French and basic Italian, Dutch and Spanish. On his free time, Ludovic enjoys sailing, dancing and reading on maritime sciences.

Chief Engineer – Theodosios Tsamis

Theodosios has been working at sea for the last ten years, climbing his way from a 3rd Engineer on cargo vessels toa Chief Engineer on luxury yachts. His hard work and
dedication have brought him to exactly where he wants to be! Theodosios joined the Ability team this season and is looking forward to a successful and joyful expereince
ahead. He has more than enough experience to ensure that your charter is as smooth running as possible. With a love for all things technical he will keep ABILITY in ship-shape condition and looks forward to welcoming you on board, ensuring a safe cruising experience for all.

Chef – Anastasios Demopoulos
Greek

Anastasios developed a love for cooking from a very young age, influenced by his family, as the most important part of the day was when the whole family sat together and enjoyed their meal. He decided to follow this path, and graduated from the prestigious Chef Academy ‘Le Monde’ in Switzerland. During the course of his 20 year career, Anastasios commenced as a Chef at high end restaurants and luxury hotels, however came to realize that his passion for cooking would be ideal if also combined with his passion for the sea. Since 2005 he has been on board luxury motor yachts, building his culinary experience and providing charter guests with flavors and tastes to savor a lifetime! Anastasios focuses on using high quality, fresh ingredients, and is always learning and studying new techniques. Creating new recipes and making his charter guests happy brings joy and excitement to Anastasios, and he wants nothing more than to observe the astounded faces enjoying every meal.

Chief Stewardess – Elena Taseva

Elena started her yachting career working as a stewardess before climbing her way up the ranks to role of chief stewardess. Elena will always strive to meet and exceed the guests’ expectations while providing a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. She is hard working, extremely organised and takes pride in providing excellent guest service. Elena is always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needs it and will ensure that everyone has a positive attitude thanks to her bubbly character! Her hobbies include reading, swimming, and outdoor sports, and is also another multilingual addition to the team, speaking English, Croatian and basic Italian. It is her fourth year onboard and Elena looks forward to welcoming you!

2nd Stewardess – Zora Todorovska

Zora is an extremely motivated, hard working and reliable. She is an asset to the team, as her positivity and excellent communication skills makes her a pleasure to be around! Zora joined ABILITY last year, and is happy to be aboard again and looks forward to another busy and successful season! She loves to travel, and enjoys combing her hospitality skills wth her love for the sea!

Stewardess/ Deckhand – Nicole Van Der Hoeven
Dutch

Nicole grew up in the Netherlands but has always had a real passion for yachting and hospitality. She has spent her whole working career working in either luxury hotels or on sailing yachts, and so she has a natural talent in anticipating and exceeding guest expectations. Having cruised over 10,000 nautical miles home for Nicole is where the anchor drops and she loves nothing more than travelling and exploring new areas.
