Meet The Crew 2019/20 Season
Captain: Matthew Ross
Chef/First Mate: Olivia Marinelli
Growing up beside the ocean, Matthew learnt to sail at the age of 8, and hasn’t stopped. He and his family cruise and race around Jamaica whenever chartering in the Mediterranean and Caribbean allow him.
Born in The United Kingdom, but living most of his life in Jamaica, Matthew embodies a mix of astute professionalism with a laid back, fun and outgoing personality. During his down time he teaches kiteboarding and tends to his 200 bee hives in Jamaica.
With a degree in Architecture, he realized that life was meant to be lived outdoors, preferably on the water so he took the leap into full time charter work and never looked back. With 5 years of captain’s experience in the charter industry under his belt, he has the formula to provide you with an amazing vacation you’ll never forget.
It was early in life when Olivia knew her passion for food, people, and the water. She grew up in Pennsylvania, in a large family of entrepreneurs which lead her to work for the family food business all her life.
Winters in Pennsylvania, summers spent working down the shore in Stone Harbor New Jersey, life was complete by the water.
When leaving for college, she had to take full advantage of the personable, fun and responsible qualities her upbringing had given her.
This is when she found Johnson & Wales in Providence Rhode Island for Entertainment and Event Management. This was the perfect combination of being able to study what she was truly passionate and at the same time being close to the most beautiful beaches.
Olivia is excited to share not only her fun-loving personality, but her passion for cooking, exploring, and taking full advantage of introducing you to what the islands have to offer while you are on charter.
Matthew and Olivia make an unforgettable team and look forward to having you onboard Champagne and providing “the best vacation ever” around the Virgin Islands.
