The Devocean Chartering Accommodations

A sumptuous interior in black American walnut accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins consisting of a full-beam master suite on the main deck, three doubles and a twin with a Pullman berth.

MASTER SUITE, BATHROOM (Main deck)
Owner cabin with king sized bed, bedside tables, vanity unit with comfortable armchair, seating area with coffee table and 2 armchairs. A walk-in closet with full length hanging, shelves and drawers and a safe. Ensuite with two hand basins, mirror, shower, bathtub and WC.

4 GUEST STATEROOMS & BATHROOMS (Lower deck)
• 1 x VIP cabins with double bed, bedside tables, desk/vanity area with comfortable chair, wardrobe.
• 2 x guest cabins, with double bed, desk/vanity area with comfortable chair, wardrobe, bedside tables.
• 1 x twin cabin with 2 single beds that can be converted into a double bed, plus 1 Pullman berth with stair access, wardrobe, bedside table.
All cabins have mini bars, LCD television screens and en-suite bathroom facilities equipped with a hand basin, mirror, shower, WC.

MAIN SALON & DINING AREA (Main deck)
The entrance from the aft deck is equipped with a central bar with 2 fridges and an ice container.
Main saloon is equipped with two sofas for 4 persons and 4 armchairs, coffee table. Dining area is fitted large dining table suitable for up to 12 guests.

UPPER DECK AFT
Aft upper deck is equipped with large table which seats up to 12 guests (only 10 chairs).

SKY LOUNGE (Upper deck)
Upper saloon is equipped with a big L shape sofa for 8 persons and 2 armchairs, coffee table, a game table and a bar.

Captain Oliver Marsden has been in the yachting industry since 2001, originally as a deckhand and then progressively worked himself across the spectrum to pass exams and become a captain, in 2016, on board 100’ Moonen M/Y BIJOUX. Before that, Oliver was chief officer and security officer on 180’ Feadship M/Y KALINGA and 164’ Proteksan M/Y MOSAIQUE.
Oliver is gifted with languages and speaks English, French and German.
In his spare time, he enjoys squash, trials biking, diving and golf. In he also a CSIA qualified ski instructor and skis as often as possible.

CHIEF OFFICER: Lynton Dedekind – South African – Returning February 2020

Lynton was deckhand then moved up to Bosun on Entourage completing 2 seasons aboard (2017/18). He returned to SA to complete is IYT 200ton Captains license before joining The Devocean as 1st Mate to continue to work with Captain Ben. Prior to joining the yachting industry Lynton worked in the family business a Bed and Breakfast in South Africa so he has many years of hospitality under his belt and experience of dealing with clients of various nationalities. When Lynton is not busy onboard he enjoys deep sea fishing, water sports and photography.

2ND STEWARDESS: Jessica Cunliffe Steel – New Zealander – Returning February 2020

Jessica made the gentle transition to the yachting industry after accruing 5 years’ experience in hospitality in Australia and her native country New Zealand. With ambitions to be “a top-level stewardess” and her 2 years’ experience so far, Jessica is showing vital signs of achieving that potential. When timings and schedules permit, Jessica loves hiking, surfing, reading and animals and she is equally passionate about travel, adventure activities, international cuisine and experiencing different cultures. Jessica was 3rd Stew on
Entourage working with Captain Ben and moves up to 2nd Stew on M/Y The Devocean.

Brian has 30 years of sea experience including 20 years professional experience as a Captain and Engineer. Prior to this he has 10 years Mechanical Engineer experience in the building industry (Hotels) as a design and project manager engineer. Having worked on large yachts for the past 10 years Brian brings a wealth of experience to M/Y The Devocean and with his calm and relaxed nature he is popular both with guests and crew alike. Brian is also an avid sailor with over 25 years of sailing and 80,000 miles under his belt.

DECKHAND: CHAD MARX – South African
Joined Summer 2018
In 2016 South African born Chad started his yachting career as deckhand on the 64ft ferry boat Jester which carried upto 190 passengers, later joining another ferry boat and earlier this year a deep-sea tuna charter boat.
Chad then did a move to superyachts and joined M/Y Entourage where he gained valuable experience in night anchor watches and tender driving. Chad is excited to have joined M/Y The Devocean to further utilize his skills and progress within the industry.
Hobbies include: Surfing, hiking and travelling.
