WILHELM KRUGER: DECKHAND/STEWARD
Wilhelm grew up in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa. He and his older brother, still a best friend, spent most weekends in Hermanus, about 75 miles away. This beautiful seaside town is famous for whale-watching, popular surfing beaches and incredible nature. It was a memorable introduction to the sea. In the winter the family visited grandparents in the Kalahari Desert where the boys learned to hunt. This upbringing instilled in Wilhelm a lifelong love of travel, the ocean and nature. He also loved playing sports, especially rugby, baseball, tennis, cricket, cycling and bodyboarding.
After graduating high school, Wilhelm began boating and soon realized a yachting career offered a chance to live a life that combined all of his passions. He has always made friends easily and enjoys spending free time in the company of friends, new and old. His easy-going, kind-hearted temperament is ideally suited to working with people. Guests who want instruction or assistance with the water toys and gear, highly appreciate having such a patient instructor.
Wilhelm is thrilled to further his yachting career as a deckhand aboard NENNE. He has already achieved an impressive resume of marine certifications including qualification as a lifeguard. He is always ready to lend a hand and genuinely enjoys an interactive charter. His motto is: Take life less seriously and have more fun. The recipe for a perfect vacation aboard NENNE!
ROTATIONAL CREW FOR 2020 SUMMER SEASON ON NENNE:
CAPTAIN MAGNUS WITTERSO
Captain Magnus hails from the frigid fjords of Norway with several captains in his blood line. He spent his entire childhood regatta racing, teaching sailing and working for the King in the Norwegian Navy before he felt himself being drawn to far more tropical latitudes. Now, thawed out, and after several years of cruising on his private sailboat, multiple ocean crossings and chartering the most stunning waters and island groups in the world, he can guarantee a fantastic experience with well thought out itineraries and adventures.
CHEF LINDSEY CHIRICHIELLO
Chef Lindsey hails from New England and a long line of chefs. Following in her fathers footprints, she found herself in the restaurant industry at a very young age. Always mesmerized with the tasty creations flowing out of the New England kitchens she worked in, she decided to peruse her passion for the culinary arts. She immersed herself in culinary courses and the bustling food scene. In an effort to keep her passion for travel stoked as well, she set off in the yachting industry roughly eight years ago.
From the Eastern Seaboard of the US, France to Spain, Italy to Turkey, Croatia and many other stops in between, she has honed her skills in several different styles of cuisine. On crossing the Atlantic she let her creative side flow with inspirations from the Caribbean and South America. She takes much pride in tantalizing your taste-buds, but also in constructing creative cocktails, and cultivating a vacation for the memory books! Magnus and Lindsey met at anchor and have been together, living on boats, for over 5 years. They tied the knot last year in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
MATE ADAM WILSON
Adam Wilson is a licensed Captain, First Mate, Dive Instructor and with a lot of onboard experience caring for guests of all ages. He has worked aboard cruise ships as an Entertainment Host, organizing activities, theme parties, playing games and trivia’s and generally raising the fun factor sky high. (He even hosted weddings onboard.) He was head lifeguard at Stanford University and has many years of experience working with kids in summer camps teaching swimming.
Living on St. Thomas for the last few years, Adam has grown to know the region well. He is passionate about being out on the water and sharing his love of the Caribbean Sea, above and below the surface. He says, “I truly enjoy showing people things they will remember for the rest of their lives and to make their vacations a special, once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Adam holds a 50-ton USCG Masters License, has Security Awareness training and Crowd and Crisis Management.
