TRIDENT TIDES Crew Profile

Captain Name: Zane Randall / Max Loubser

Captain Nationality: USA

Number of Crew: 2

Your crew – Jan, Feb, March
Zane & Shivani

Zane grew up in the mountains of Colorado where he developed a deep passion for the outdoors. After college Zane could not resist the allure of the ocean and moved to San Francisco to pursue his dream of sailing professionally. He has since been working in the marine industry on a variety of sailing and motor vessels throughout North America, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. Through these experiences Zane earned his USCG masters license and has worked in the capacity of rigger, carpenter, engineer, chief mate and captain. When he is not sailing, Zane continues to enjoy the outdoors, spending time camping, fly fishing, surfing and SCUBA diving, he is always excited to share these pastimes with guests.

Shivani grew up in southern California where she attended college and earned a B.S. in Marketing. Her parents owned and operated a small restaurant there where she worked just about every day for 4 years. Watching the restaurant’s patrons swoon over her mother’s fresh, healthy and thoughtful array of recipes was the spark that commenced her interest in cooking. Soon after college she moved to New England where she worked in admissions at a university. Shivani’s position at the university allowed her to travel around New England and eventually meet Zane who introduced her to a life and career on the water. She has now earned her Captains License and has sailed from Maine to Aruba as Captain, Chef and Mate on several different yachts.

In deciding to begin a life together, Zane and Shivani are thrilled to do so through their passion of working on the water. They are excited to offer their guests a diverse itinerary, an exciting menu and an idyllic atmosphere aboard Trident Tides.

Max & Haily

Max Loubser (Captain, Yachtmaster 200T, PADI rescue diver certified) was born in South Africa but was raised in the Caribbean after his parents sailed across the Atlantic soon after he was born. Having grown up on a sailboat and subsequently following a career on luxury yachts, Max has been on the sea his entire life.

He made his first trip across the Atlantic as crew at the age of thirteen, and after finishing school went on to study at the maritime colleges in Europe. He worked on luxury yachts for 10 years working his way up to 1st Officer. He holds a Captain’s License for 200-ton vessels and a Chief Officer’s License for 3000-ton vessels.

In 2013, at the age of 23, he captained a sailing yacht around the world for over two years. This would cause a shift in his life and eventually the start of this business, where he gets to share that same excitement and adventure with people from all around the world.

Max enjoys anything that involves being above or below the surface of the water. Kiteboarding takes the top spot, and he spends any free time discovering new places to launch the kite and hit the water. After getting certified at age 11, Max also loves getting in the water with a scuba tank. But if there isn’t one, he uses bigger fins and joins the fish freediving.

Haily Celestin (Chef, Hostess, Registered Nurse, STCW, PADI Certified) was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which is where she gets her southern hospitality with guests onboard. She moved to Colorado after college to explore the beauty and adventure of the Rocky Mountains. Being an avid activities lover, the mountains provided her with an endless array of sports and exploration.

Having studied to be a registered nurse but unable to settle down in one place with her urge to travel, she quickly worked to become a traveling RN, specializing in the operating room. This gave Haily the freedom to move around to different hospitals but most importantly, to discover new places. Wanting to try something completely new, Haily’s journey landed her in the Caribbean islands to pursue a slightly different lifestyle with Max. With a background in activities like skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, scuba diving, hiking, and rock climbing, Haily added another one to her ever-growing list – sailing and sea exploring. Whether it be hiking a dormant volcano or scuba diving through coral reefs, she gets to bring the same thrill and wonder to people sailing the islands of the Caribbean. Most recently Haily has taken cooking courses under a French maritime chef to put a high-end twist on her already tasty menu. Whether it is family-style, BBQ, or beautifully plated fresh red snapper Haily will make you smile with her enthusiastic love for food.
